A recent viral tale about a 26-year-old 'teacher' named Cikgu Farhan allegedly trekking three hours through the Ranau jungle in Sabah to deliver food has been debunked

SK Pinawantai headmistress Roseline Liji clarified that the story, which claimed a teacher sacrificed his time and salary to help stranded students, did not happen at her school.

According to Berita Harian, the original post suggested that Farhan used his own money to purchase rice and supplies for hostel students cut off by severe weather.

Photos of a man in rubber boots carrying a sack through the mud went viral, with claims the school's main road was impassable.

However, Roseline took to Facebook to explain that the situation does not reflect the reality at SK Pinawantai

She pointed out the school is located next to a main road and remains accessible by vehicle, even in poor weather.

"The location of SK Pinawantai is near the main road, it has no hostel, and can be reached using a vehicle," Roseline stated.

Roseline confirmed that the Cikgu Farhan mentioned in the viral content does not exist within the school's teaching roster

The headmistress urged the original poster to take down the content to protect the Ministry of Education's (MOE) reputation.

She also emphasised the need to safeguard the image of the Sabah State Education Department from misinformation.
