From leading the national junior hockey team to dominating the motorcycle spare parts industry, Muhammad Haziq Samsul has proven that a solid game plan works off the field too

The 32-year-old athlete turned his RM30 snack business into a multi-million ringgit empire.

Muhammad Haziq recently shared how his venture, Bottol Garage Empire, now boasts a staggering RM40 million valuation.

The business focuses on motorcycle repairs, spare parts, and accessories across nine branches nationwide.

Success did not come overnight for the former sportsman, who represented Malaysia in the 2013 Junior World Cup and 2014 Commonwealth Games

Before his breakthrough, he tried and failed at several ventures, including a barber shop, used clothing, and helmet sales.

Accordinng to Harian Metro, Muhammad Haziq started his entrepreneurial journey at Bukit Jalil Sports School (SSBJ) with just RM30.

He saved every bit of profit from selling snacks while balancing his rigorous hockey training schedule.

In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he launched Bottol Garage Empire

Today, he manages 120 staff members and runs the business with monthly costs between RM600,000 and RM700,000.

"Last year, we achieved sales of approximately RM30 million," he said.

"If someone offered RM40 million to take over, I would let it go. That is the current value of my business," he added.

The entrepreneur remains humble, crediting his achievements to perseverance

He believes that if an individual fails in business, they have only themselves to blame for the lack of effort.

He advised other athletes to prepare for life after sports by identifying their interests, and attending relevant courses.

Having a secondary plan ensures stability once a sporting career inevitably reaches its end, he said.

Muhammad Haziq plans to focus on improving service quality at his existing branches rather than rushing into further expansion.

He maintains that providing the best service is the key to retaining loyal customer support.
