Ex-Deputy Transport Minister: No Such Thing As Bribes For Driver’s Licenses During My Time
He said officials caught violating the law were mostly isolated cases.

Aziz, who lost his Sri Gading seat to PPBM's Shaharudin Salleh in GE14, said there was no such culture and officials abided by the law.
He added that those caught violating the law were mostly isolated cases.
Aziz said he was made known of syndicates forging fake driver's licenses. However, he added that bribery for driver's licenses was unheard of.
"Like passports and ICs, driver's licenses are susceptible to such problems," he told Sin Chew.

Meanwhile, the director general of the Malaysian Institute Of Road Safety Research (MIROS) said the practice of bribing for driver's licenses has become a part of Malaysian "culture"
Professor Dr Wong Shaw Voon of MIROS said as quoted by Sin Chew that the current driver's license application process needs to be reviewed and the bribery culture must be eradicated.
