An elderly Cheras man has been rescued by emergency responders after he was found living in deplorable conditions
According to The Rakyat Post, the man, believed to be in his 70s, had been living without electricity or power, in a flat that was filled with rubbish and his own waste.
Emergency responders and the Social Welfare Department (JKM) were alerted by a retired police officer and launched a rescue operation.
They were accompanied by social activist, Chee Heng Kuan, better known as Uncle Kentang.

An aggressive dog was also found near the man, which nearby residents said had a history of attacking people.
The rescue was complicated by broken glass and other hazardous debris in the flat, posing risks to both the responders and the elderly man, who could not sit or move on his own.

The man was found in unsanitary living conditions.
