Elderly Man With Dementia Admits To Dragging His Pet Dog On A Motorcycle

According to the New Straits Times, the 82-year-old suspect was arrested in front of a house in Sungai Petani, Kedah last Sunday, 15 June.
Kuala Muda district police chief ASP Hanyan Ramlan said the suspect has no criminal record and tested negative for drugs.
Although the elderly man admitted to the crime, he could not recall why he did so.
Hanyan said the suspect only realised what he had done after members of the public intervened during the incident in Bandar Puteri Jaya.
The suspect's motorcycle and helmet have since been seized as evidence.

The case is currently being probed under Section 428 of the Penal Code for mischief by killing or maiming an animal
If convicted, the man could face up to three years in jail, a fine, or both.
He was released on bail due to his age and health conditions, reported The Star.
Meanwhile, the police confirmed that the dog was taken to a veterinary clinic by a social media user who recorded the incident.
The dog will be handed over to the Veterinary Services Department after receiving treatment.
