E-Hailing Driver Claims Pamela Ling Was Taken By Men In ‘Polis’ Vests In Putrajaya
According to him, one of the men claimed they were taking her to the nearest police station for questioning.
A 55-year-old e-hailing driver has come forward to share how his passenger, Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh, was allegedly abducted by individuals claiming to be police officers during a ride to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya
Pamela, 42, was reportedly on her way to the MACC office on 9 April when she was allegedly abducted.
The driver, who identified himself only as Kok, told Harian Metro that he had picked Pamela up from Velocity Tower in Cheras. He said the ride was quiet, save for a phone call Pamela made mid-journey.
Kok said three vehicles surrounded his car near the MACC building, one in front, one behind, and one alongside. Two men and one woman exited two of the vehicles, while the third car remained closed.
According to Kok, the men wore vests labeled "Polis" and the woman was dressed in what appeared to be a police uniform, reported the New Straits Times.
"They said they were detaining her to assist with an investigation, claiming they had received a police report. At first, she refused to get out, and the woman in uniform tried to pull her from my car," Kok claimed.
But before she was taken away, Kok said he was forced to mark the ride as "completed" in the app.
"I was forced to press 'complete job' before my MyKad and driving licence were taken by the individuals claiming to be police officers. [Pamela] was then pulled from my car and taken [away]," he said.
The e-hailing driver said that he later lodged a police report
"I couldn't work for two weeks while waiting for new documents," he said.
Pamela's whereabouts remain unknown since 9 April.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed that authorities are investigating the possibility that she was abducted by individuals impersonating police officers.
