Selangor police have revealed that a 17-year-old British teenager, who flew to Malaysia without telling his family last month, has recently sent an email to his mother telling her not to search for him

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, 16 July, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the email, which was sent on 9 July, was the last known communication between David Balisong and his family in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.

"Among the contents of the email was: 'Don't worry, don't try to find me. I wish all the family members success in life. I apologise for doing this'," Hussein said.

Balisong left home on 6 June after telling his brother he had school matters to attend to. He then boarded a one-way flight to Kuala Lumpur and landed at KLIA on 7 June.

Police also confirmed that there are no records of the teen leaving Malaysia since his arrival

Hussein said the teenager was last captured on closed-circuit television camera footage at the KL Sentral lobby on 7 June at 10.09am.

"We have taken statements from his mother, a bus driver, a bus ticket counter salesperson, and a police officer to date. Based on current Immigration records, he is believed to still be in Malaysia," he said.
