A pet camera captured the moment two dogs opened an Australian man's door, letting a bull and a horse into his home

According to ABC News, Northern Territory politician Andrew Mackay was out for dinner when he noticed something strange on his pet-cam feed at home.

His two dogs, Thunder and Sunny, had figured out how to open his home's sliding door.

After the dogs escaped into the yard, his other pet animals soon noticed the door was wide open.

An 18-month-old bull named Sue wandered into the home, followed shortly by a horse, Cricket

The large animals, known to be curious creatures, explored and played around the house for the next half hour, leaving a trail of chaos in their wake.

They toppled items off shelves, devoured vegetable scraps meant for the chickens, and even drank from the guppy fish tank.

Mackay later noted the water level in the tank had dropped nearly 20cm, though all the guppies appeared unharmed.

Mackay said he had taken out his phone to show a friend his snake enclosure via the pet camera feed when he noticed a cow strolling past

He then told his fiance, "Babe, we've gotta go home now."

Rushing home, he checked the pet-cam footage to see how the animals had gotten inside, only to realise his two clever dogs were to blame.

Thankfully, none of the animals were harmed, and aside from water and mud, the house suffered no lasting damage.

Mackay said he was happy to let Cricket make himself at home, as the horse had only joined the family weeks earlier.

He joked that now the animals have experienced air-conditioning, they will no doubt try to get back in.

"We've told the dogs no more parties when mum and dad are out, and we've been watching Cricket and Sue very eagerly standing at the back door waiting for the door to magically open for them again."

At the end of the video, Mackay can be seen surveying the damage while his dogs feign ignorance.
