The government has reduced the prices of diesel and petrol effective today, 16 April, following a decline in international market prices

According to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), retail fuel prices have been readjusted in line with the drop in global oil prices.

Fuel prices between 16 and 22 April are as follows:
• RON97: RM5.10 per litre (down 25 sen)
• RON95 (unsubsidised): RM4.02 per litre (down 25 sen)
• Diesel (in Peninsular Malaysia): RM5.97 per litre (down 75 sen)

Meanwhile, the price of subsidised RON95, or BUDI95, remains unchanged at RM1.99 per litre

The ministry said the government will continue to monitor market developments and align petroleum prices to ensure price stability and safeguard the well-being of the people.

To mitigate the impact of rising global oil prices on the rakyat and ensure the continuity of food production and the supply chain, the government has increased the additional cash assistance under BUDI Diesel to RM400 per month for April.

This will benefit 350,000 recipients under BUDI Individual and BUDI Agri-Commodity, with an additional allocation of RM35 million per month.
