Perodua owners now have something new to be proud of: a row of Perodua Bezzas was recently spotted online as Papua New Guinea's latest police patrol cars

The Malaysian-manufactured sedans were spotted fully decked out with police decals, rooftop warning lights, and other official accessories. The vehicles are believed to be part of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) fleet.

The video was shared on TikTok by user @brittany.jane93, who appears to work at a Perodua dealership in the capital of Port Moresby.

"Who knew the Perodua Bezza could pull off the police car look? Here you go!" her caption read.

This development quickly sparked a wave of conversation among Malaysian netizens, who were clearly thrilled to see the popular locally-made model "crossing borders" to serve as an official patrol car in another country.

Beyond merely fostering a sense of national pride, many also view this as an indirect recognition of the increasing capability and quality of Malaysia's automotive industry.

The fact that the Bezza is being used as a police car in Papua New Guinea can be confirmed with a recent quote by Perodua president and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad

"Lately, we've been exporting the Bezza to Papua New Guinea. The Bezza is being used as a police car there, and it was also used in their national day celebrations. That's something to be very proud of — countries like Papua New Guinea accept Perodua as a trusted brand," he told automotive media Paul Tan.
