Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will reduce its security deposit rate for concerts by 50% for international acts starting next month

According to Bernama, Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh said the deposit for foreign artistes' stage and cultural performances will be lowered from RM30,000 to RM8,000.

For concerts, foreign artistes will only need to place a RM15,000 deposit, down from the previous RM30,000.

Meanwhile, deposits for stage or cultural performances involving local artistes will be reduced from RM10,000 to RM4,000, while the rate for concerts is set at RM10,000.

Yeoh said the initiative is to support the government's Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, which has been extended to 2027.

The minister added that the move aligns with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's call for all ministries to work together to ensure the success of government initiatives

"We will attract more event organisers to organise programmes, concerts and activities in Kuala Lumpur," she said.

Speaking at a recent event, Economic Affairs Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign will be extended to 2027 to support the recovery of international tourism, targeting 47 million foreign arrivals and RM329 billion in revenue.
