Police have confirmed receiving a report from a student who alleged that she was harassed and threatened by her male classmates at a school in Kuching, Sarawak

According to the New Straits Times, Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said an investigation has been launched under Section 507C of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, which covers threatening, abusive, or insulting words or acts that cause a person to feel harassed, distressed, fearful, or alarmed.

However, Irwan clarified that the police report did not include any mention of a threat to stab the victim, contrary to earlier media reports.

"Yes, the case is under investigation. It involves a student being disturbed by her classmates, but there was no statement about wanting to 'stab her 300 times'," he told the New Straits Times.

Earlier, it was reported that the secondary school student was allegedly pelted with stones and violently threatened by her two male classmates

The case was first highlighted by Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief Milton Foo, who said he received a complaint from the victim's parents.

Foo claimed that the boys had referenced recent school-related rape and murder cases, allegedly threatening to "stab her 300 times after sexually assaulting her".

The alleged threats reportedly left the victim traumatised, prompting her and her parents to report the incident to the school and the police.
