A 2-year-old girl died after being crushed by a concrete fence post at her home in Taman Bukit Kristal, Seremban last Friday, 3 October
According to Sinar Harian, the girl was playing with her sister on the front porch when the unstable post collapsed and struck her.
Seremban district police chief ACP Mohamad Hatta Che Din said they were alerted to the incident about 7.15pm.
"The victim's mother immediately rushed her to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, but she was confirmed dead at 9.14pm," he said in a statement on Saturday, 4 October.
A post-mortem revealed that the girl died from head injuries caused by being struck by a heavy object
Mohamad Hatta urged the public to ensure that all building structures in their homes are properly installed to prevent similar incidents.
"The case has been classified as sudden death," he said.
