The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry has implemented the Chinese New Year Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) from 6 to 14 February
This nine-day initiative, enforced through the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011, covers 11 essential items to ensure fair pricing for consumers. Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali also added that stern action will be taken against traders who fail to comply with the price controls, as reported by The Star.

1. White prawns
\- Peninsular: RM39 per kg
– Sarawak: RM35 per kg
– Sabah (West Coast): RM33 per kg
– Sabah (East Coast): RM30 per kg
– Labuan: RM36 per kg
2. White pomfret (200-400g each)
\- Peninsular: RM42
– Sarawak: RM40
– Sabah: RM30 (West Coast), RM35 (East Coast)
– Labuan: RM35
3. Live farm pigs
\- Peninsular: RM17 per kg
– Sarawak: RM15 per kg

7. Imported potatoes (China)

8. Garlic (China)
Peninsular, Sarawak, Sabah, Labuan: RM11 per kg
9. Imported ginger

10. Imported white radish
\- Peninsular and Sarawak: RM5 per kg (Limbang and Lawas: RM6)

11. Carrots
\- Peninsular: RM4.50 per kg
