As we can remember, Two farmers and a civilian were killed while hundreds including policemen were injured in the April 1 incident
500 farmers protested in front of the National Food Authority office in Kidapawan City, last March 29 because of the effects of El Nino to their livelihood.
The 500 farmers who went to the protest ballooned to 6, 000 protesters that led to blocking Kidapawan Highway. The police in the area came to negotiate with them to clear the main road. However, tension grew worse and led to violent dispersal.

"I have talked to three pregnant women in the detention center," Pimentel-Gana said in a GMA News interview.
"We have observed that a lot of senior citizens have indeed been picked up, both women and men. There are questions whether they are even directly involved or the ones who committed the direct assault," Pimentel-Gana said.
