A college in Sichuan, China, has caught public attention for encouraging its students to stop studying and "fall in love" during the upcoming week-long spring break

In an unusual but lighthearted message, Sichuan Southwest Vocational College of Civil Aviation urged both its students and teachers to embrace the beauty of spring.

A prominent poster on the college's website, written in large pink font, reads, "Spring holiday. Go enjoy flower viewing, go fall in love."

It is accompanied by an image of two students taking a selfie together against a backdrop of cherry blossoms.

According to news.china.com, the college has maintained a spring break tradition since 2019.

It is typically scheduled alongside the Qing Ming Festival to allow teachers and students to enjoy an extended holiday period.

This year, the spring break will run from April 1 to April 6, with faculty and staff receiving paid leave

"Spring is the time for delicious food and fun. The time has come to enjoy our motherland's most beautiful feast!" read the message.

"Therefore, the college calls upon all teachers and students to put down your books, and all staff to set aside your work, and cast away your worries. Bring your family, bring your loved ones, call on your friends, and go on spring break.

"Embrace the spectacular scenery of our vast rivers and mountains, express the passion in your hearts, make friends with nature, write poetry with your footsteps, and enjoy the beauty of this spring to the fullest!" it added.

Feedback from the initiative shows that students mostly spend their break travelling, returning to their hometowns, or participating in social activities.

By aligning the spring break with other short national holidays, the college aims to give students a rare opportunity to fully relax and recharge, free from academic pressure.
