A decade ago, Yang Fang fell critically ill and slipped into a coma while working in Guangzhou, China
Doctors informed her mother, Xiao Xuefei, 59, that Yang's chances of waking up were slim and suggested discontinuing treatment.
Despite the prognosis, Xiao insisted on moving her daughter to a regular ward and eventually took her home for rehabilitation.

Doctors had suggested music and dance might stimulate Yang's nerves
Taking their advice to heart, Xiao, from Hunan province, began taking her daughter to a nearby park every morning.
According to South China Morning Post, she pushed Yang's wheelchair and held her hand, swaying to the rhythm of square dance music.

Local "square dance aunties" soon noticed Xiao's dedication and offered support, helping Yang with exercises
During the second year of this daily routine, Yang regained the ability to speak. Her first words to her mother were: "You are a good person."
Xiao immediately took her to the hospital, where doctors observed significant changes in Yang's brain activity, calling it "a miracle".
After 10 years of faithful dancing, Yang can now walk, speak, and care for herself, though she only recognises her parents.
"As long as my daughter is happy, all the hardship and exhaustion is worth it," Xiao said, adding that they still dance daily.
