You can check your eligibility for the government's RM100 aid at the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) official website starting today, 21 August
In an X post this morning, the Finance Ministry said 22 million Malaysians will receive the one-off payment in their MyKad on 31 August, in conjunction with Hari Kebangsaan.
Malaysians above the age of 18 will receive the credit, including for existing SARA recipients.
"No registration or application is required, as eligibility for SARA is determined automatically based on National Registration Department (NRD) MyKad records.
"Members of the public are advised not to fall victim to scams, as SARA assistance will be credited directly to recipients' MyKad," the statement read.

Recipients can use the credit at more than 7,300 registered retail outlets nationwide
The credit can be used between 31 August and 31 December 2025 via MyKad. Simply present your MyKad at participating outlets to pay with the SARA credit.
"Recipients can purchase more than 100,000 essential items in 14 categories.
"These include basic foods such as rice and eggs, home cleaning supplies, medicines, school necessities, and personal hygiene items," said the ministry.
It added that households can receive more SARA credit if multiple members are eligible. For instance, a family with four recipients could collectively receive RM400 from the government.
With this rollout, the ministry said the combined allocation for the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and SARA programmes has risen to RM15 billion for the 2025 fiscal year, a 50% increase from RM10 billion in 2024.
