A netizen took to Twitter on 21 February to share his father's narrow experience escaping a group of machete-wielding robbers at their home in Serdang
"Guys please stay safe, my dad almost got robbed while leaving the house," he wrote.

At 5.41pm, the man opened the gate of his home to park his car.
That was when seven men, riding four motorcycles, rushed into the compound.
In the three CCTV videos, the man can be seen running into his home as soon as he saw the robbers head towards him.
"Thank god he made it inside the house in time and we could lock the door," the netizen added.

After missing the man by mere seconds, two robbers armed with machetes attempted to kick down the front door
When they realised their attempts were futile, the men broke a window and stabbed the man's car tyre before escaping.

"The complainant suffered no injuries and follow-up action to trace these suspects are already underway," said Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Ismadi Borhan in a statement released on 22 February.
According to another Twitter user, the modus operandi is suspiciously similar to that of several other robbery cases
