Five people died this Sunday after attending a concert at the parking lot of a mall in Pasay City last Saturday night. They were identified as Ariel Leal, Lance Garcia, Bianca Fontejon, and an unidentified male American national. The fifth victim, Ken Migawa, who was earlier reported to be in critical condition, has also died Sunday night.
These victims were found unconscious at different parts of the concert venue at the SM Mall of Asia.
The police said they were looking at possible heatstroke or dehydration as the country is under high temperatures brought by the El Nino.
They also added that it was too early to say that the deaths were caused by drug-infused drinks, despite rumors spreading on social media.
Close-up's media partner, Eventscape, said in a statement that strict measures and precautions were implemented to ensure the safety of all concert attendees.
The concert started at 3 p.m. Saturday and was supposed to end at 3 a.m. Sunday.
Hours after the concert started, several people were found unconscious in the concert area, where several concessionaires were allowed to sell food and other items.
