A 4-year-old boy in China miraculously survived a fall from his 11th-floor apartment window
According to Chinese news platform Sohu, the incident occurred on 11 April in Liaoning province while the boy's parents were away delivering goods.
The boy, known as Xiaoming, was left alone as his parents believed he was safe behind a locked door.
They monitored him periodically via a surveillance camera.

Xiaoming found a key and opened the window screen himself. When his father returned two hours later, he found the boy lying on the cement ground outside.
His father, Song, rushed his son to a nearby hospital.
Xiaoming suffered multiple broken bones and damage to his liver, spleen, and lungs.
Doctors initially gave the boy only a 5% chance of survival.
"When we heard this, we felt the sky was falling," Song said in a media interview.

After 18 days in the intensive care unit (ICU), Xiaoming was moved to a general ward. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Once he regained consciousness, the boy revealed why he climbed the window.
"When we asked him why, he said he was just missing me so much," his mother said.
He had climbed up to see if his mother was returning home.
In China, the law prohibits leaving children under 8 years old unattended. While such accidents are common in high-rises, guardians are rarely prosecuted.
Xiaoming's parents remain confident he will make a full recovery.
