Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has released a series of limited-edition commemorative coins featuring the country's six UNESCO World Heritage Sites
In a statement on 10 April, the central bank said the coins, themed "Malaysia's Treasures to the World", each highlight one of the recognised sites.
The six UNESCO World Heritage Sites are:
– Gunung Mulu National Park
– Kinabalu Park
– Bandar Melaka and George Town
– Lenggong Valley
– Niah Caves Complex
– FRIM Forest Park, Selangor

Each coin bears the inscription "TAPAK WARISAN UNESCO MALAYSIA" along with the name of the site it represents
According to BNM, the coins are minted in gold-plated copper, weigh 28.65g, and carry a face value of RM5.
They share a common reverse design featuring the inscription "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" at the top and the denomination "5 RINGGIT", along with a stylised silhouette of a heritage site and a map of Malaysia marking all six locations.

BNM has minted 2,000 pieces per design, with each coin priced at RM110
Orders can be placed online via BNM's official website from 9am on 11 April until 9am on 21 April.
Purchases are limited to two coins per design per person. Each coin is sold separately, and a balloting process will be conducted in the event of oversubscription.
The results of successful applications will be announced on 5 May on the BNM website.
