Police are investigating an express bus driver after he was caught on video driving recklessly on the North-South Expressway (NSE)
In the viral video, the driver is seen navigating the vehicle with one hand during a night-time journey.
According to Berita Harian, the 80-second clip surfaced on social media at 1.05pm on 16 April.
Alor Gajah district police chief Ahmad Abu Bakar confirmed that the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department is handling the case
He said the bus, with the number plate BSB 4999, was travelling from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), with the incident reportedly occurring at KM196.1 of the NSE.
Police are urging the driver to come forward to the Alor Gajah IPD to assist with the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
Witnesses or those with information are advised to contact investigating officer Inspector Nurul Salina Rosli at 011 25435507.

The company apologised for the incident, noting they take passenger safety very seriously. The company stated the driver failed to cooperate fully during an internal inquiry before his suspension.
The company also said it will cooperate with the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) on the matter.
The company pledged to tighten its monitoring procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
