Beloved Teacher Found Dead At Home In Seremban After Failing To Show Up At School

A 55-year-old teacher from SJK(C) Chee Wen in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan, was found dead at her home on Sunday morning, 21 June, after she failed to show up for work

The teacher, identified as Huang Shuyun (transliteration) (黄淑云), had been serving as a Year One class teacher at the school since early 2024, having previously taught at SJK(C) Bahau for over 20 years, according to China Press.

Rescuers found her body in her bedroom after the school's assistant principal, He Lijing, and Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) chairman, Chan Kah Kien, went to check on her. They alerted the Fire and Rescue Department for assistance after seeing her car parked outside, but getting no response from inside the house.

The police have ruled out foul play and classified the case as a sudden death. A post-mortem is underway to determine the cause of death.

Huang, who had a known history of heart complications and previously received treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN), was reportedly alone at home when she passed away. Her husband and daughter were not present at the time.

Her death has left colleagues and students shaken

The school later published an official tribute on its Facebook page, saying, "It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved teacher, Madam Huang Shuyun. The entire school community mourns this loss deeply. We are grateful for her years of service, dedication, and love for her students. May she rest in peace."

Huang's passing comes after the decomposed body of another female teacher was found at her home in Johor

The female teacher was found in Bandar Selesa Jaya, Skudai, on 12 June, after neighbours reported a foul odour.

Police said she likely died about a month earlier and had not been to school since 24 September 2024.

She was identified as a 39-year-old Luo Qunfeng (transliteration).
