Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that 22 million Malaysians will each receive RM100 in SARA Aid next year

In August 2025, Malaysians aged 18 and above received a RM100 SARA payment.
The finance minister said over 70% of the funds have already been spent, and the remaining SARA balance will be re-allocated to programmes for the needy by the end of December.
The RM100 SARA aid will be continued in 2026
The government will once again provide a RM100 SARA payment to 22 million Malaysians aged 18 and above.
The aid will be disbursed in mid-February, which can be used for preparations for Ramadan and Chinese New Year celebrations. The STR SARA 2026 fund will total RM15 billion.
For TM Wong, a 70-year-old retiree, the SARA aid is a welcome initiative.
"It has a bigger economic impact than most people may realise. It's a reasonable sum that will relieve many households while stimulating spending, which is great for localised business owners, too.
"I think it's a great idea to have it yearly, as long as managed responsibly," he said.
