Beggar With Proton X70 Earns Around RM2,000 A Month, Government Reveals
He apparently works as a shift supervisor at a bus company.
Remember the beggar who made headlines for owning a Proton X70? It turns out he earns around RM2,000 a month.
According to Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad, the individual works at a local bus company.
"Further investigation found that he is currently employed as a shift supervisor in a bus company, earning around RM2,000 per month. Hence, this individual is no longer eligible for welfare assistance from the Social Welfare Department (JKM)," Noraini said today in a report by the MalayMail.
The ministry has ceased providing disability allowance to the man
Noraini, responding to a question in the Dewan Rakyat from Mohd Sany Hamzan (PH-Hulu Langat), added that the ministry has discontinued the man's RM450 monthly allowance effective this month.
The ministry has also issued a warning, along with a letter of undertaking, to ensure that the man no longer engages in begging activities.
