A 10-month-old baby boy was recently rushed to a hospital in Yunnan, China, after being found with hundreds of puncture wounds across his body
The infant was admitted to the People's Hospital of Mojiang County on 16 December 2025 with a high fever and convulsions.
According to a video posted by an attending doctor from the Spine Centre of Xinhua Hospital, Sui Wenyuan, the child had been subjected to a horrific ordeal.
Dr Sui, who is commonly known as "Spine Surgeon Dr Sui Wenyuan", recounted how the boy was covered in dark scabs from his head to his feet.

The surgeon estimated that the baby had been punctured between 500 and 600 times
Dr Sui discovered that the mother, a woman surnamed Dao, would stab the child with needles whenever he misbehaved or fell ill.
The abuse escalated when a thick needle, typically used for sewing shoe soles, was driven into the boy's neck.
The needle snapped, leaving a metal tip embedded deep within his cervical spine.
Dr Sui explained that the surgery was incredibly high-risk as the parents could not confirm the needle's shape or if it had barbs.
"We completed all necessary tests and successfully performed the surgery on the same day as the consultation," Dr Sui said.
The infant's high fever was likely caused by rust on the needle, but his condition fortunately stabilised three days after the operation.
He has since been moved out of the intensive care unit.

A joint investigation by the Public Security Bureau and the health commission determined that Dao used a traditional "needling" method to treat her son
Officials noted that the mother is poorly educated and lacks scientific knowledge.
The incident has sparked widespread fury on social media platforms like Weibo.
It remains unclear if Dao will face legal charges for the alleged assault, though investigations into the family's situation are ongoing.
