Autopsy Reveals Woman Found In Car Filled With Belongings Died Of Pneumonia

The case has been classified as sudden death.

Police have confirmed that the 38-year-old woman who was found dead in her car at a petrol station in Penang had died of pneumonia

According to the New Straits Times, Northeast district police chief ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the post-mortem conducted by the forensic department at Penang Hospital determined pneumonia as the cause of death.

He added that no criminal elements were found.

"Therefore, the case remains classified as sudden death, and a sudden death report has been opened for further investigation," he said in a statement yesterday, 23 February.

It was previously reported that the victim was discovered in her car at a petrol station along Jalan Paya Terubong in George Town on Sunday, 22 February

Authorities were alerted to the incident at around 7.48pm after the Perodua Myvi was found locked.
