Malaysian actress and humanitarian volunteer Ardell Aryana was reportedly assaulted by Israeli soldiers who intercepted the vessel carrying members of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission
According to Centre for Human Rights Research and Advocacy (CENTHRA) lawyer Fahmi Abd Moin, Ardell, whose real name is Nurul Hidayah Mohd Amin, was allegedly pulled by her hair and punched in the face, leaving her injured during the confrontation, reported Berita Harian.
Fahmi, one of five lawyers representing the 23 Malaysian volunteers involved in the GSF mission, said he received the information after meeting Ardell in Istanbul, Turkey, on Sunday, 5 October.
He added that several other volunteers also endured degrading treatment at the hands of Israeli authorities, including male participants such as Rahmat Ikhsan Mohd Sofyan, better known as PU Rahmat, who was allegedly forced to strip as an act of humiliation.
"Based on the initial information I received from the GSF volunteers, several male participants, including PU Rahmat, were ordered to remove their clothing.
"Meanwhile, Heliza and Hazwani were given tap water from the toilet to drink. The water in the detention facility was not clean," he said.

All 23 Malaysians were reportedly taken to Ketziot Prison, located in the Negev desert, before being released and flown to Turkey.
Fahmi said the legal team plans to submit evidence of Israel's alleged mistreatment to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
"With the evidence of abuse suffered by the volunteers, we hope to exert political pressure on the Zionist regime and pursue justice through the proper legal channels. We will gather more detailed information once the volunteers return to Malaysia.
"The plan is to compile all evidence and witness testimonies before submitting a report to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). With sufficient documentation, we aim to pressure for a thorough investigation and initiate proceedings through the ICC," he said.
