As the joint press conference wrapped up, Putin shared an anecdote from the private tour he had given Anwar earlier that day.
While showing him three thrones at the Kremlin's St Andrew's Hall — one for the king, the queen, and a third unlabelled — Putin turned to Anwar and asked who he thought the third throne was for.
"Almost without thinking," Putin recounted, "Mr Prime Minister answered, 'For the second wife'."

The response drew laughter from a hall filled with Malaysian ministers, senior Russian officials, and members of the international press
With a chuckle, Putin continued, "I hope he won't be angry that I shared this. That's the response of a true Muslim, a representative of Islamic culture."
Anwar joined in and replied, "I must respond. I only have one wife, Mr President."
The prime minister went on to clarify that he later realised that the third throne was actually meant for the king's mother.
Putin confirmed this with a smile, "Yes, the third throne is for the mother. But the exchange of information is useful. Thank you," before standing to shake Anwar's hand.
