Mukhriz’s Daughter Says She’s Deeply Ashamed Of Her Actions And Will Do Better

Last night, 28 August, Meera Alyanna Mukhriz, who is known as Ally, apologised for breaching the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), saying that she is "deeply ashamed" for her indiscretions

Taking to her public Instagram profile, the daughter of Jerlun Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and granddaughter of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that after reflecting on the consequences of her actions and that she is "profusely sorry".

She took responsibility for breaching the RMCO

"Breaking the 12am curfew was not only foolish on my part, but entirely irresponsible considering the current pandemic we're all going through," Ally wrote in English and Bahasa Melayu.

"I am also deeply ashamed for what my indiscretions have brought on to my family, my friends, and all of you. There are absolutely no excuses for my actions," she added.

According to Ally, while she has tried to always put her best foot forward and be an example to others, she realised now that those efforts were not enough and so she "must and will, do better"

"I only hope that one day, I'd be able to prove to you that I have," read her Instagram post.
