Air Selangor Backs Malaysia’s First Eco Green Premium Data Centre In Cyberjaya

Air Selangor is showing strong support for homegrown innovation by backing Basis Bay, a Malaysian tech company, in building the world's first purpose-built Eco Green Premium Data Centre in Cyberjaya

The new facility, Cyberjaya DC2, marks a big leap for Malaysia's digital economy and sustainability goals, proving that the country can host high-tech and environmentally responsible infrastructure.

According to Air Selangor CEO Adam Saffian Ghazali, the partnership reflects the company's commitment to supporting local enterprises and sustainable growth.

"Air Selangor welcomes the Basis Bay Data Centre project as a key long-term partnership that supports a locally owned enterprise and reflects our commitment to enabling sustainable growth and supporting Malaysia's digital transformation," he said.

As part of this initiative, Air Selangor will supply 43,710 litres of water per day for the first phase of the project, with future phases supported progressively based on approvals and requirements

Adam added that as Malaysia's largest water services provider, Air Selangor remains committed to powering high-impact projects with reliable, sustainable water supply, helping drive Malaysia toward a more resilient and digitally advanced future.

Aligned with the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13), Air Selangor plays a key role in supporting Selangor's economic growth, which contributed about 26.2% of Malaysia's GDP in 2024. The company's efforts ensure that both the state and nation can continue advancing sustainably.

It's built to global standards, featuring eco-friendly innovations like vertical greenery, solar power, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient cooling systems.

Cyberjaya DC2 also focuses on data sovereignty and cyber resilience, keeping sensitive national and financial data within Malaysia while meeting all regulatory requirements.

The project was officiated by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo on 5 November, marking another step in strengthening the country's position as a regional digital hub.

Air Selangor says it will continue to facilitate approvals and technical coordination to ensure the smooth delivery of this landmark project.
