The baby boy was found shivering in the cold
According to a report in NST Online, the baby boy was found by a man attached to the Perak Islamic and Malay Customs Council.
The unnamed name was said to be attending a course at the hotel when he heard the baby's cries through an open window at about 11am, reported NST Online.
The man and his two friends went to the scene and found the baby with his umbilical cord intact and shivering in the cold, Gerik police Chief Supt Ismail Che Isa said.
The newborn was first sent to the Sri Banding Camp Clinic in Gerik and was later sent to the Gerik Hospital by the man, Ismail Che said
The police have yet to find out who abandoned the newborn. There was no mention of any case being registered by the police in the NST Online report.
