A 16-year-old is being investigated by the Singapore Police Force for selling a fake iPhone 7
According to the statement, the teenager, a 16-year-old girl, sold the victim the fake iPhone and received SGD380 (approximately RM1,130) in cash.
The victim lodged a police report against the girl on 6 March after failing to login to his iTunes account using the phone.
The police report showed a picture of a fake iPhone X, while statements claimed she sold a fake iPhone 7.

The girl was selling the fake iPhone 7 at least SGD500 (approximately RM1,480) lesser than the price for an original one.
The girl, if convicted, will be fined and sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in jail
Singapore Police Force wrote that the girl is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
The Singapore Police Force also advised the public to practice a few measures in order to avoid falling victim to similar cheating cases
The measures include:
- Purchase only from reputable, online vendors.
- Make sure the location of the seller or company you are buying from is where they claim to be.
- Check the track record of the company or seller you are buying from.
