65-Year-Old Man Dies While Playing Slot Machine In Penang

Police found no evidence of foul play.

A 65-year-old man died after collapsing while playing a slot machine at a recreational club in George Town, Penang, on Tuesday, 14 April

According to China Press, the incident occurred at around 7pm inside a private club along Jalan Boundry in Air Itam.

The deceased, believed to be an elderly man surnamed Lee, was a resident of Paya Terubong.

At the time of the incident, he was reportedly playing the slot machine alone in a private room when he suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness.

Staff members who discovered him lying on the ground immediately called for an ambulance.

However, upon arrival, medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene

Northeast district deputy police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake said preliminary investigations found no evidence of foul play, and a physical examination revealed no suspicious injuries, reported the New Straits Times.

A post-mortem conducted yesterday, 15 April, determined the cause of death as a ruptured dissecting aortic aneurysm.

The case has been classified as sudden death.
