A 6-year-old boy sustained multiple injuries after he was run over by a school van that had just dropped him off in front of a house at Taman Mantau Indah 3, Seremban, on Monday, 4 August
Seremban district police chief ACP Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the incident occurred about 11.50am, when the victim was believed to have crossed in front of the van after getting off.
"Initial investigations show that the school van, a Kia Pregio, was driven by a 38-year-old woman and was on its way from Tabika Perpaduan Taman Mantau Indah.
"The van was meant to drop the boy off at his babysitter's house," he said in a statement on Thursday, 7 August, reported Harian Metro.
However, upon arrival, the boy reportedly walked in front of the vehicle to cross over to his babysitter's house — and was hit by the van
The incident was captured on CCTV, and the footage has since been circulated on social media.
In the video, after hitting the boy, the van driver is seen stopping the vehicle, picking him off the road, and carrying him to the babysitter's house, where he appears conscious and able to stand.

The boy was rushed to Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar (HTJ), where he was treated for injuries to his head, body, arms, and legs
According to Mohamad Hatta, the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
He also reminded public transport drivers to always remain alert to passengers' movements after they disembark and to ensure they arrive at their destinations safely before driving off.
The victim's mother, Siti Zarina Abd Zarim, said she was on her way to a doctor's appointment when she received a call from the babysitter around noon
She rushed to HTJ, where she was heartbroken to see her son covered in wounds, with the most serious injuries on his head. However, she said she is thankful he remains conscious.
"After staying overnight at HTJ, he was transferred to Hospital Tunku Azizah in Kuala Lumpur for head surgery. I'm still in shock and not entirely sure how severe the injuries are," she told Berita Harian.
She explained that her son is usually sent to the kindergarten by the babysitter in the morning and returns to the babysitter's home by school van in the afternoon.
The family hopes the police will conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice is served.
