6 Suspects Arrested Within 7 Hours After Woman Was Robbed In Shah Alam

The victim was taking out the trash when she was robbed.

Police have arrested six Malaysians suspected of being involved in the robbery of a woman at knifepoint in Section 7, Shah Alam

According to Bernama, Shah Alam police chief Ramsay Embol said the victim, an Indonesian woman, was disposing of rubbish outside her home at 5.30am on Monday, 16 February, when she was robbed.

"The victim was walking alone to dispose of rubbish along a lane near Jalan Plumbum, Section 7, when she was approached by a group of suspects who grabbed her handbag before fleeing," he said in a statement.

The incident was captured on camera, and the footage has since gone viral on social media. The video shows three men tugging at the woman's handbag before escaping in a red car.

The victim lodged a police report at about 2pm on the same day, with losses estimated between RM350 and RM500

Ramsay said, based on the report, officers from the Shah Alam Criminal Investigation Division immediately launched an operation to track down the suspects.

By 9pm the same day, police arrested five men and one woman, aged between 20 and 40, in connection with the case

A red Perodua Axia believed to have been used during the robbery was also seized.

The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and robbery with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt.
