34-Year-Old Man Dies Suddenly In Bintulu Hostel Moments After Video Call With Wife

The man, a hotel worker, reportedly suffered from high blood pressure.

A 34-year-old man collapsed and died shortly after ending a video call with his wife at his staff hostel in Bintulu, Sarawak

According to Sin Chew Daily, the incident happened around 7pm on Monday, 29 September.

The man, who worked at a nearby hotel, had just returned to his hostel in Assyakirin Commerce Square after work when he started chatting with his wife over a video call. Not long after ending the call, he suddenly felt unwell and collapsed.

His colleagues immediately called for an ambulance, but paramedics pronounced him dead upon arrival, reported China Press.

Police have classified the case as a sudden death

The body has been sent to Bintulu Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

Family members who rushed to the scene were devastated.

They described him as a friendly and cheerful person who maintained a close relationship with his family.

He reportedly suffered from high blood pressure.

He leaves behind three young children.
