A family dispute escalated into a dangerous car chase along the North-South Expressway (PLUS), ending in a three-vehicle crash at KM308 northbound yesterday, 8 April, according to Perak police

A man driving a Honda City was chasing his younger sister, who was reportedly travelling with her boyfriend in a Proton Ertiga MPV. The incident, which took place at around 10.46am, has since gone viral.

Kampar district police chief Supt Mohamad Nazri Daud confirmed the chase was sparked by a domestic dispute and that it led to one of the vehicles braking suddenly in the fast lane, causing it to be rear-ended by two other cars, reported Harian Metro.

"No one was seriously injured, but early investigations show there were criminal elements involved before the crash," he said, adding that the initial altercation began in Serdang, Selangor.

The case has now been handed over to the Serdang district police's Criminal Investigation Division

"Yes, the brother was chasing the sister. Kampar police are only handling the accident report, while the criminal investigation is under Serdang's jurisdiction," Nazri said.

A viral dashcam video shows a grey Honda City aggressively tailing a white Proton Ertiga before the MPV stops abruptly in the middle lane, leading to a chain-reaction collision involving other vehicles.
