3 Men Found Dead While Allegedly Trying To Steal TNB Cables In Ipoh

Three men died after allegedly being electrocuted while attempting to steal electrical cables from a Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) pylon in Ipoh
The incident occurred at an open field in Taman Rapat Perdana on Monday morning, 16 March.
According to Bernama, Ipoh district police chief ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah said police received a call from the public about the incident at around 10am.
Police rushed to the scene and found all three men already dead.

Initial investigations found the men, aged between 35 and 50, were believed to have been electrocuted while trying to cut cables from the TNB structure
Their bodies were later sent to the forensic department of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact cause of death.
The case is being investigated under Section 379/511 of the Penal Code for attempted theft. It has also been classified as sudden deaths pending further investigations.

Meanwhile, TNB said it will fully cooperate with the police and the Energy Commission in the investigation
According to Berita Harian, the utility company also reminded the public that electrical installations such as poles, cables, and power lines are extremely dangerous and should never be tampered with.
TNB stressed that interfering with electrical infrastructure is not only illegal but could also result in fatal electric shock.
The public is also urged to stay away from electrical installations and report suspicious activities to authorities or TNB to prevent similar incidents.
