Two beauty salons in Jalan Kuchai Lama and Bandar Sri Petaling have been busted for secretly operating as brothels, offering sexual services under the pretext of men's grooming packages

In a statement, Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said the raid was carried out at 6pm yesterday, 28 May, following two weeks of intelligence work, according to the New Straits Times.

The salons, he said, were actively promoting their services via WeChat, offering customers a digital "catalogue" of foreign women to choose from before booking appointments.

"The premises operated by advertising men's hair and facial grooming packages while discreetly offering sexual services as part of the package.

"Subscription fees ranged from RM150 to RM250 depending on the type of service requested by the customer. The outlets operated from 3pm to 2am daily," he was quoted as saying.

A total of 59 individuals were checked during the raid, including three foreign men, 45 foreign women, and 11 Malaysians

All three foreign men and 45 women from Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Laos were detained for various immigration offences. These include lacking valid identification, overstaying, misusing permits, and other violations under the Immigration Act 1959/63, the Passport Act 1966, and Immigration Regulations 1963.

Three local men, believed to be caretakers, were also arrested.

The outlets had been in business for over two years

Each premise was equipped with dorm-style rooms, where the women lived.

Zakaria said the illegal operation was raking in between RM1,000 and RM1,500 daily. During the raid, several women were found entertaining customers, believed to be both locals and tourists.

All detainees have been sent to Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for further investigation.
