An 11-year-old boy in Melaka has suffered a head injury after his father threw a chair at him for serving coffee that allegedly wasn't hot enough

According to Utusan Malaysia, Melaka's Women, Family, and Community Development executive councillor Datuk Kalsom Noordin said the incident happened on Wednesday, 25 June, at the family's home in Bandar Hilir.

At the time, the boy was home alone with his father while his mother was at work.

Kalsom stated that the father became angry over the lukewarm drink, despite the boy explaining that he had already reheated it

She said the man remained unconvinced and threw a chair, which struck the boy on the head.

After the incident, the father reportedly cleaned the boy's wound, and the child later told his mother what had happened when she returned home.

The boy was taken to a clinic in Cheng, then referred to Hospital Melaka for further investigation, including an X-ray and CT scan

Fortunately, no serious injuries were found, said Kalsom.

She added that officers from the Social Welfare Department (JKM) would be visiting the family on 30 June to record statements and determine the next course of action.
