A 10-year-old girl was found dead, naked, and bleeding at Indalong, Barangay Bal-ason, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental on Tuesday
Authorities identified the victim as Jamaica Marias Tion, a resident of Sitio Banaat.

On the afternoon of 17 October, the Grade 5 pupil was walking home from school when her friends, Ferlan Quiraban (19) and his brother (17), asked her to pick the fruits nearby
The brothers later raped and killed her.

Police reports say that she was strangled with her underwear
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered the underwear and said the victim's body will be subjected to an autopsy to determine the cause of death and to gather physical evidence. **But investigators said blood has been found in the victim's genitalia indicating rape.**

The elder Quiraban insisted he had nothing to do with the crime, but the younger said otherwise
The latter claimed he only held the girl while his brother raped and killed the young girl.
Cullamat said the younger suspect also admitted for having been involved in illegal drugs trade as delivery boy in four areas of the barangay.
Today, the suspects have been detained at Gingoog City Police station while the victim's family demands for justice.
The Quiraban brothers are facing rape with murder charges. The 17-year-old suspect will be turned over to DSWD.
