UNIQLO Singapore has introduced a new initiative that gives your pre-loved items a fresh look with a meaningful twist

The retail brand's Masterpiece REMAKE Service transforms worn LifeWear pieces into one-of-a-kind works of art using rescued batik and kimono fabrics, as well as other recycled materials.

Part of the RE.UNIQLO initiative, this creative service is a collaboration with Studio Masachuka, a London-based sewing studio founded by Masahiko Morikawa

By combining heritage batik scraps that would otherwise go to waste with your old UNIQLO favourites, each piece is reborn with vibrant patterns and colours — and no two look the same.

"Remaking makes your items truly unique… One of the surprises with using batik is that each piece comes out with different patterns and colours," Morikawa shared in a video.

For now, the Masterpiece REMAKE Service is only available at the RE.UNIQLO Studio in the UNIQLO Orchard Central Global Flagship Store in Singapore, and only accepts UNIQLO items

Still, the initiative has already caught people's attention, with many hoping it'll make its way to other countries soon.
