More Malaysians are turning to TikTok Shop for online shopping, with the platform now recording over 100 million product searches daily

The figure was announced at the TikTok Shop Summit today, 25 July, the platform's largest industry event of the year, which brought together thousands of local sellers, content creators, and ecosystem partners to explore the future of e-commerce in Malaysia.

"As consumer confidence deepened, we have observed a growing trend of shoppers using TikTok Shop for both discovery and deliberate shopping," said TikTok Shop Malaysia's director of strategic partnerships, Nur Azre Abdul Aziz.

"Our full-funnel e-commerce ecosystem is uniquely positioned to help creators and businesses of all sizes, especially local MSMEs and homegrown brands," she added.

The summit also featured the launch of several new tools designed to support sellers and creators

Tools such as the GMV Max automation tool, Affiliate Creatives for Ads (ACA), Opportunity Center, Product Data Synchronisation, and the new Star Creator badge are designed to help sellers and creators optimise their operations and drive growth.

Features like Next-Day Delivery in the Klang Valley, Johor, and Penang, 30-day free returns for Mall purchases, and TikTok PayLater were also highlighted as part of efforts to improve the shopping experience.

TikTok Shop reported strong year-on-year growth during major campaigns in 2024: over 140% during the 6.6 Sale, more than 100% across Ramadan and Raya, and a 90% lift during Chinese New Year.

TikTok Shop also said shoppers can expect twice the number of discount vouchers on the platform during the upcoming year-end sales, while brands on TikTok Shop Mall will receive double the platform support in the second half of 2025.

The e-commerce platform encourages local entrepreneurs and SMEs to explore its tools and resources through the TikTok Shop Seller Center and TikTok Shop Academy.
