Ever wished your breakfast could follow you around all day?

Lixuan from @thepigbakesclay made it happen by hand-sculpting tiny soft-boiled eggs (complete with bottles of soy sauce and pepper!) into earrings that are as adorable as they are impressive.

"I'm a big fan of eggs. Soft-boiled eggs are a breakfast essential for any Singaporean, so it felt natural to bring them to life in clay," she shared with SAYS.

Lixuan started 13 years ago after watching a YouTube video of miniaturist Tanja making tiny cupcakes

Since then, she's mastered the art of crafting intricate details entirely by hand.

"The folds in xiaolongbao were the toughest. I spent over a week drafting them, and I wasn't satisfied until weeks later," she shared when asked which detail had been the most challenging to replicate.

Each pair can take anywhere from an hour to a few days to finish, depending on complexity

Eggs remain her favourite to sculpt, but she dreams of creating wuxiang (五香) next, an iconic Singaporean dish she hasn't tackled yet.

She's also made all sorts of other miniature designs, from Jellycat-inspired pieces to Chinese lanterns, roti bakar, and kuih lapis

Running this business hasn't been all smooth sailing. Lixuan has faced salary irregularities and the usual money worries, but she wouldn't trade it for an office job.

"The level of control, creativity, and excitement that clay has brought me suits my personality way more than a disciplined office job," she shared.
