MODU, the samgyetang spot that made waves when it first opened at The Exchange TRX, is now expanding with a second outlet at 1 Utama

According to a post by the Facebook page Makan Ape Harini, a signboard for the restaurant was recently spotted at 1 Utama Shopping Centre.

SAYS has since confirmed with 1 Utama that MODU will indeed be opening a new outlet at the mall, located at LG602, right next to FlowRider.

While there's no exact opening date just yet, we were informed that it's expected to land sometime around mid-2026

If you're not familiar, MODU is known for its comforting take on samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup), which quickly gained a following after its debut at TRX.

Their version is known for its deeply herbal broth, tender chicken, and comforting flavours, perfect for rainy days or when you're feeling under the weather.

Founded by a South Korean who first debuted the restaurant in Singapore, the outlet saw long queues following its opening in Malaysia.

As for what's next, MODU has hinted that expansion has always been part of the plan, though details remain under wraps for now

"We do have plans to expand to more outlets in the future. As for specific locations, they're not disclosed for now, but we'll be sharing updates with everyone once confirmed. Stay tuned!" they told SAYS.
