If you've been missing that Olympic-size ice rink at Empire City, good news — it's making a comeback

And this time, you can add skiing and a splash at Malaysia's largest indoor waterpark to your weekend plans… all without leaving Petaling Jaya.

Hextar World, the massive 1.8 million sq ft lifestyle hub set to open in the fourth quarter of 2025, just revealed its newest anchor tenants and attractions.

The ice rink will be joined by Malaysia's largest indoor ski training facility

The Malaysia National Ice Skating Stadium (MYNISS) will once again welcome skaters with its Olympic-size surface, perfect for figure skating, ice hockey, or just pretending you're in a winter K-drama.

Right next to it is Slope Master, the country's biggest indoor ski training facility, ready to teach beginners and pros alike how to tackle snowy slopes (minus the actual snowstorms).

As of 11 August, Slope Master has opened for a soft launch running until November.

If ice and snow aren't your thing, Miami Beach — Malaysia's first indoor beach with a simulated day-and-night cycle — will offer 160,000 sq ft of sandy fun, slides, and water attractions

It's all part of Hextar World's grand plan to become 'The Exploratorium', a destination built on discovery, adventure, and active living.

Beyond the headline-grabbing sports facilities, the mall is lining up a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment

According to its press release, Village Grocer will take up 28,000 sq ft for your grocery runs, while Jungle Gym will keep the kids busy in its 12,000 sq ft indoor playground.

Sport Planet, Playa Racquet Club (for all you pickleball enthusiasts), and 91 Sports Arena are also moving in.

Cultural offerings include Ballet Theatre Malaysia, the nation's first professional ballet company, which will have a brand-new venue in the mall to support aspiring dancers.

And for the foodies, La Boca promises Latin American flavours, Luckin Coffee brings a caffeine fix from China's fastest-growing coffee chain, and Senkyaku Banrai delivers a Japanese-themed food street. NomNom Food Hall will round things out with a tech-driven dining experience.

A poster at the new mall also suggests that Parkson will also be among its tenants.
