This year's race weekend pulled in a massive 190,977 spectators, the highest in the last three years, and the atmosphere was nothing short of exhilarating.

Alex Márquez sealed a memorable runner-up finish in this year's MotoGP world championship by taking victory at the 2025 Malaysian Grand Prix. It was an all-Spanish lock on the podium, with Pedro Acosta Sánchez and Joan Mir Mayrata completing the top three.

One of the highlights of this year's MotoGP was the new look PETRONAS Oasis, which brought Malaysian culture into the spotlight

The cultural-meets-tech hub carried 'Warisan Malaysia' through visuals, performances, installations, and interactions.

Designed around the theme 'Tradition Meets Technology', the space not only offered racing-themed activities, but also highlighted Malaysian heritage elements.

People poured in to experience everything from high-speed racing simulators and hands-on interactive games, to PETROSAINS educational corners for kids, plus free snacks and refreshments throughout the day.

Families and fans of all ages engaged with exhibits that merged culture, innovation, and sustainability, showing how PETRONAS continues to build #SPEEDPHORIA not only on the track but also outside of it.

In line with this year's cultural narrative, even the official MotoGP trophies were designed to reflect Malaysian heritage

The trophy's songket-inspired motifs symbolised strength, boldness, and national pride, while anchoring Malaysia's cultural identity within the global motorsports platform.

PETRONAS also saw two national riders selected as wildcard entries for the Moto2 race

  • Muhammad Helmi Azman #55

Seeing Malaysian riders take on the Moto2 grid at home added emotional fuel to an already high-voltage weekend.
