SAYS Top 10 New-ish Spots For Ice Cream In The Klang Valley

Last year, we curated a list of the best artisanal ice creams we could find in Klang Valley. Since then, several other have popped up to give these guys a run for their money. Let's check 'em out:

1. Ice Dreams Cafe (IDC) @ SS20, PJ

Spicy apple crumble, vintage strawberries and cream, lemongrass and ginger, Anzac coconut cookies, and Black Doris plum and crème fraîche – these are just some of the Kapiti ice cream flavours available at **Ice Dreams Cafe (IDC)**. Enjoy scoops of New Zealand's famous rich, creamy ice cream in an affogato, with waffles and crepes, and even as an ice cream sandwich.

2. Fluffed Cafe & Dessert Bar @ Taman Paramount, PJ

**Fluffed** offers a variety of unique ice cream flavours – lavender blueberry, earl grey, hokey pokey honeycomb, strawberry cheesecake, macadamia crumble – best enjoyed with their crispy-on-the-outside-fluffy-on-the-inside waffles. Also, try their signature cloudcakes and myriad of pastries.

4. Softsrve Ice Cream and Dessert Bar @ Damansara Utama, PJ and Sri Petaling, KL

Having started off with cereal milk and chocolate soft serve ice cream, **Softsrve** has since expanded its menu to include flavours like matcha green tea and oolong. Top off your ice cream with goodies such as honeycomb, popcorn, cotton candy, chocolate chips, and truffles.

5. Hail's Soft Serve @ Damansara Utama, PJ

One for the adventurous, **Hail's Soft Serve** prides itself on its classic Pink Peppercorn soft serve ice cream and sea salt crisp wafer cone. The ice cream parlour also creates limited edition seasonal flavours that change every 2 to 4 weeks, each containing bits and pieces of the world.

6. The Ais @ Damansara Utama, PJ

Over 30 flavours of handcrafted ice cream and sorbets take the centre stage at **The Ais**, including cinnamon plum, Horlicks Kit Kat, rum and raisin, Bailey's, gula melaka, coffee nuts, lemon poppyseed and dragonfruit. Pair them with a plate of mini pancakes or the newly-introduced waffles.

7. Æbout Ice Cream @ Sri Petaling

Recently launched in November, **Æbout Ice Cream**'s selection of ice cream is still pretty limited. Serving artisanal ice creams made in and imported from New Zealand, must-tries include After Mint and Triple Chocolate.

9. Waka Waka Gelato @ Various locations

Final-year college student Marie Peh started **Waka Waka Gelato** after falling in love with Italian-style ice cream following a family vacation in Rome. Marie makes fresh gelato from scratch, with no artificial flavouring and colouring, and using quality and premium ingredients. Instead of operating from a brick-and-mortar store, Waka Waka sets up shop in random locations.

10. Polar Bear Softcreme Parlour @ Various locations

A night market favourite, **Polar Bear Softcreme Parlour** offers milk-based soft serve ice cream and frozen yoghurt. The milk-based treats comprise of 4 homemade flavours – rose lychee, French lavender, uji matcha, and sesame.
